The last battle was Heilsburg on 18 Apr 10. The next Battle will be Busaco to be played 26 Sep 10, followed by Hohenlinden on 5 Dec 2010 see current work for details. In 2010 we are going back over some battles as large Napoleonic battles in 1810 were a bit thin on the ground! If you want to join the club the membership is £12 a year contact the Boss below Potential future battles being considered for 2011: Barrosa, Fuentes de Oñoroa, Albuera, Novi and Bautzen This site exists to publicise the Large Scale Napoleonic Wargames staged by the Liphook Historical Wargames Group. These Wargames are open to all who wish to participate. Our aim over the next 6 years is to wargame the major Napoleonic battles on or close to their 200th anniversary. We have already staged Austerlitz (the Allies won) and Jena (a 'bloody' stalemate, i.e. marginal Prussian) at 1:60 and 1:50 figure scale respectively both on custom designed contoured terrain on two 24ft x 6ft tables. We have also staged Eylau, Friedland, Corunna, Aspern Essling and Wagram to name but a few. Almost all were at 1:50 figure scale on three 22ft x 6ft tables; for Wagram 5 tables were used measuring 30ft x 30ft overall. We use 25/28mm figures, mostly Minifigs but more and more Foundry and Front Rank are creeping in. We use our own 'Art of Command' rule set tailored to accurately represent battalion/squadron/battery level combats but still allow a quick turnaround averaging 10/11 minutes per period or 44 period per day. We have a hardcore of 36 players and advertise for other commanders depending on the size of battle (Wagram was a big one). Players are asked to contribute as little as £12 towards the cost of an all-day battle. These take place in the village of Liphook some 20miles South of Guildford, England Read more about Liphook Historical Wargames here
