The Guard has pushed on, but comes up against the 3rd Prussian Defensive line consisting of Tauentzien's reorganised force and the remains of Holtzendorf's detachment. By this stage three of the Guard Battalions have taken massive casualties from Artillery, one routs and the other two retreat. It is approaching the end of the day and just to the Left of the picture Ruchel's division is finally arriving to stabilise the line.
